20 million cycles are tested - a full success !

After a period of nearly 2 years the fatigue tests at the INPRO were completed. The results show no changes at the structure and behaviour of the nipper itself. The quality of the joining points (clinching) is unchanged too.
Cut images are identical to those shooted at the start of the fatigue tests.
Now the way is free for a wide usage in different industrial applications.

From the 13. - 19. June 2005 at the Paris Air Show "Le Bourget", wich will be held in 2 year periodity, our newest results within our cooperation with Liebherr Aerospace will come to publicity (hall 2, booth I6).

In the request of Liebherr and the interaction of aerospace know-how and "on the edge" composite technology, extremly high-loaded structural components for aircraft landing gear in carbon ultra-lightweight technique and a new technology demonstrator for landing gear hydraulics were realized.



In cooperation with the ELCO GmbH we have demonstrate the high potential of composites on an air inlet box for an industrial burner.



3D-surface design and therefore an improvement in the fluid dynamik, cost effectivity and an improved handling caused by a clear mass reduction are important arguments for this new application.

The new system was introduced at several trade fairs, for example the ISH in Frankfurt/Main.
Brisk interesting is self-explanatory for this new standard.


01.02.2005: The WiFTec Spezialmaschinen GmbH with main site in Hameln and the EAST-4D subscribed a  coocperation agreement for the development of new tooling machine concepts for milling. The new approach will achieve its main advantages by extent use of state of the art composite materials. The work will enhanced by the Arbeitsgemeinschaft industrieller Forschungsvereinigungen "Otto von Guericke" e.V. (AiF).




Within the VITAL cluster of the european aircraft engine industry (Snecma, Rolls-Royce, MTU etc.) we are involved as a project partner. The EAST-4D will work on the development  und manufacturing  of  new  ultra lightweight composite applications for next generation engines.

The required mass reduction will benefit into a lower full consumption and a lower level of emissions.

During the kick-off meeting in Paris at the 18. to 19. january the participants  grouped for a common picture. The participation within the VITAL cluster is an essential milestone for us.

The german department for patents and brands issued 2 patents for the EAST-4D:

DE 102 33 697.0-23 " Zentrifugenrotor in Wickeltechnik"

DE 102 33 537.0-23 " Berstschutzstruktur in Leichtbauweise"

With this advice the main results of our R&D work were protected by patent laws.





In the context of common development activities we were visited at the 20. to 22. october by a delegation of Rolls-Royce plc associates.

Beneath the employees from the Rolls-Royce main site in Derby/UK, there were also associates from Dahlewitz/Berlin and Indianapolis/USA aboard in Dresden.

Attendant to the comprehensive technical discussions, which were held on the one hand at our site in Dresden and on the other hand at the Technical University in Dresden, the international group of experts experienced an interesting and varied evening program.

Not to forget, the convenient discussions - for example on the visit of the castle Pillnitz - contributed to a successful event and forced the cooperations in future.

The revolutionary lightweight joint pliers  introduced this year at the Hannover fair tolerated at the fatigue test bed by INPRO Berlin over 8 million cycles without any failure, and they become more and more..
Thus is the best confirmation of our lightweight approach!

The appearance of the EAST-4D on the Hanover fair of this year was a full success!

The evaluation of the numbers of visitors on our exhibition booth showed a high resonance regarding existing and potential new co-operations. An eyecatcher was the demonstration of steel sheet joining with the new lightweight joining pliers in C-Damp® technology. The joining plier can add metal sheets with forces up to 60 kN with a outlay of 850 mm.




The EAST-4D presented its newest developments on the Hanover Fair 2004 (19.-24 April 2004, Hanover). The topics of our specialized lectures in the automotive forum, hall 4 were:

On 15 March 2004 our enterprise presented itself on the EADS supplying fair in the World trade center Dresden.

EAST-4D presented a new prototyp of ultra lightweight joining pliers on the Dresdner lightweight construction symposium 2003 (26. - 28 June 2003). Ultra lightweight joining pliers for joining and clinching:

- weight: 180 kg
- joining pliers window: 850 mm x 350 mm
- adding force: 60 kN
- Design load changes: 20 millions



This innovative mechanical engineering component is implemented in an aluminum carbon hybrid building method. The selected carbon material has a modulus of elasticity: 240 GPa (modulus of elasticity of steel: 195 GPa). 



Our enterprise was with some exhibits on the industrial exhibition "Fair of Industrial Technologies and Investment Goods" in Poznan, Poland represented from 9 to 12 June 2003 and wants to be in the future on this market more strongly present.
